Party conferences tour ends in Birmingham

October 15, 2012

On Tuesday 9th October the Thames Tideway Tunnel project team held a drop-in session for delegates at the Conservative Party Conference in Birmingham.

Visitors included the newly-appointed Defra Secretary of State, Owen Paterson MP, and the Water Minister, Richard Benyon MP.

The leader of Wandsworth Council, Cllr Ravia Gavindia (pictured with Phil Stride) also stopped by for an update on the status of the seven proposed construction sites affecting the borough.

Other elected representatives and activists from across the capital posed questions about the cost of the project and process of appointing an Infrastructure Provider to finance and deliver it. Discussions on this issue continue between Thames Water, Ofwat, Defra and Infrastructure UK.
